I lay out the red (butcher paper) carpet, turn on the disco lights, cue the Hollywood Award Show music, and grab my microphone for announcing each student’s name. It’s a massive hit. And it just feels right as a […]

The first time I tried this, I could not believe my eyes when ALL students kept the same pencil for two weeks! 🤯 I never looked back. 👀

If you’re thinking “I’ll just save this for next year, it’s too late in the year to try now.” ⏰ I’d HIGHLY encourage you to reconsider. My first time using this was after Spring Break. Trying something new towards the end of the year can bring a fresh energy to your classroom! It’s never too late!

For ALL the details, comment the word PENCIL below! ✏️ You’ll be sent the link to my Pencil Challenge Guide product + my YouTube video and blog that have all the info you’ll need to give it a try. 🚨 Make sure you are following me before you comment or your message will appear blank!

It’s Animal Research time! 🔍🦒🐬🦍✏️ This is such a f It’s Animal Research time! 🔍🦒🐬🦍✏️ This is such a fun Spring Writing Unit!

This is a unit I loved doing in my classroom & works perfectly if you do a field trip to the zoo or aquarium!! I designed it specifically for 2nd & 3rd graders to move through the Writing Process.

If you teach a lower grade, it’s probably too advanced! You could choose to edit and adapt it if you really want to make it work, but just keep that in mind. If you teach an upper grade, you could skip the Pre-Writing form and have students jump straight to Rough Drafts to add rigor. 👏🏽
